My sister bought me a hand tooled leather journal cover from Eccolo and there was one refill inside. It took me a while to find replacements because nothing less than what had been included would do.
The pages are thick quality paper edged in gold that drink the ink like a tight-celled sponge. Quality ink helps and I get mine from Levenger, but the paper is perfect for use with a fountain pen and holds up beautifully without smudging, smearing or fading.
The refills go perfectly with the leather journal covers, both made by Eccolo, and both of superior quality and craftsmanship. I hate using anything else.
