Pretty, but not a "standard" scrapbook or photo album Feb 01, 2010

The cover of this album is pretty, but the inside is not created like a "traditional" scrapbook or photo album. This is what the inside looks like: 30 8x10 off-white pages (thick and good quality) separated by thin sheets of protective tissue/paper (also attached to the binding, so they don't come out). If you want to use it as a scrapbook, keep in mind that: 1) it doesn't have protective plastic sleeves with pages that slip out (like typical scrapbooks), and 2) it's not a typical scrapbook size (12x12), so some scrapbook accessories may not coincide. If you want to use it as a photo album, you'd have to stick the photos directly to the pages and count on the tissue inserts to protect them. All in all, the album is good quality. Just be sure the inside is what you're looking for.

The book is beautiful and has charm of being from Italy. We had gone to Italy a few months ago and we meant to buy a photo album like this, and after doing some window shopping in Florence, the store we wanted to purchase from was closed when we went back to it. We couldnt get it on our trip. Well this Medici Album definitely made up for it with its high quality stitching and unique design cover. Its great for a photo album and as a gift. I just now need to find a place to have a embossing in gold/silver foil on the book's bind to personalize the photo album. I wish this would have been provided from Amazon as part of the purchase (in Italy shops this is included) but it wasn't when I purchased our album.

This product is absolutely amazing. Upon opening the package I was met with a rich, thick smell of fine leather. I bought this as a gift for my sister with a future in photography. I was not disappointed, and neither was she. For 60 dollars, this is a steal!
