I have this journal in two colors. The pink cover is glossy, the British tan is a matte finish. In both cases the leather is first rate. The pages are a good weight, thick enough that pens don't bleed through. The pages are a cream color with grey lines. There are a few pages at the end for a perpetual calendar, world time zones and such. Some are useful, others will raise an eyebrow. The ribbon is ivory and is sewn in well.

Overall I think the quality of this journal is extremely high which validates its cost.
