I recieved this as a gift myself, only a few days ago. On a whim, and realising that I'd fill it and want another to fill that, and so on, I researched it, and here I am.
It's beautiful. When I unwrapped it, and it fell into my hands, I was literally speechless. It may sound cheesy, but it's the truth. The slogan is lovely, the font it's carved in quaint. Lined on both sides, with plenty of pages, and it just feels so... NICE. I keep picking it up and shifting it from hand to hand, just because it feels so comfortable to hold. The leather is a lovely touch, creating a smooth, warm feeling that makes you want to run your fingers up and down the book's spine.
The best gift for someone who loves writing. The best. I fell in love with it, so much so that I very nearly don't want to mark it with my ink.

Write. Write your crazy thoughts, your frustrations, your daily adventures or drudgery. , Encourage everyone you know to write. If you have children, insist they write. Honestly, it's mentally and physically helpful.
Having said that - there is something about a nice journal that makes people WANT to write. So buy one for your friend, your kid, that person you have to buy for and don't know what to buy.
I've bought many journals over the years for myself and as gifts. This feels great to the touch, is nice quality leather, big enough to write in without a table but small enough to stash in a large pocket. It's less expensive than others I have tried of the same quality and the fun colors and engraving choices make it even more appealing. Practically speaking, a composition notebook will do the same job, cheaper. However, if you want something to encourage yourself or someone else to write, I recommend these journals.
