Exactly what I expected Jun 24, 2010

I purchased this book (with the green leather cover) for my mom for her retirement. As you would expect the book itself is small as are the maps and printing inside the pages. However, it covers all of the information indicated in the product description. The book has current information on all of the national parks, phone numbers, websites, hours/days of operation, location, maps, and more. The cover is good quality and the page edges are gilded. There are pages in the back for notes but they would have to be limited. I suspect you could enter dates and locations of any visits to the parks you make, but there is not enough room for a full journal regarding your visit.

Overall the book was worth the price based on what I received and my expectations for the product. If you want a large book with color photos that details each park - this is not the book for you. However, if you want a small reference guide someone could use when planning a vacation or series of vacations to the national parks of America, this is a perfect place to start. I'm giving the product four stars as it would have been nicer if it was just a little bigger with larger print and more pages for notes.
